soil of a famous Cloister Garden. It was in the form of a silver
tablet with a silver chain.

The sides of this dial carry the Latin inscription "Pax Possessori"
and "Salus Factori" which may be freely translated "God rest my
Soul" and "God bless my maker"

Directions for using this authentic replica of the 9th Century
"Kings Dial" is included on the back of the display box.

The shepherd's dial, also known as the pillar, traveler's or
cylinder dial, was one of the simplest and most widely used
portable sundials. It indicates the time of day from the sun's
altitude, which also depends on the latitude and time of year.

SHEPHERD’S PILLAR SUNDIAL NECKLACE

This is an authentic replica of a pillar sundial made in 1650 A.D. It is beautifully executed and has a fold out gnomon that is set over the right month to tell the time.
