THREE LEGGED SMALL STOOL

At one time, three legged stools were common place in most country homes. The children often sat on them near the fireplace to listen to stories being told or at their parents feet saying their lessons. They were versatile because they were so portable. They were also frequently used to sit on in the barn by the person who milked the cows. Thus these little stools became known as milking stools.
